The Secret (Si j’étais toi), 2007 - Directed by Vincent Perez
Husband, wife, and daughter have moved from Boston to Williamstown. At 16, Samantha (Olivia Thirlby) treats her mother (Lili Taylor) shabbily, but when the two are in a horrific car crash, the mother wills Sam to live, somehow losing her own life while her spirit enters Sam. Can she convince husband Ben (David Duchovny) that she’s his wife inside his daughter’s body? If he believes her, can she live Samantha’s life (discovering all her daughter’s secrets) while she figures out what to do? What’s Ben’s part in this secret life?
Uhh… This is kind of an awkward description I found on IMDB, but it really is a good movie.

If you asked me this out of nowhere, I would probably say Fight Club off the top of my head since it’s my favorite book. But I honestly think Watchmen was one of the most faithful adaptations I’ve seen, and it’s my favorite graphic novel, so0o0o…

Watchmen, 2009 - Directed by Zack Snyder
I really shouldn’t have to explain what the movie is about, I think you should know by now. But I’ve told 574839754 people that they really should read the graphic novel first. Like I said, the movie was a really faithful adaptation, but there are plenty of differences, and I would say that the novel is certainly better. They made changes in the movie so it would be more audience-friendly, since probably the majority of people seeing it in the theaters have not read it. But again, you should definitely read it if you haven’t done so already.
Random: I also have this poster.

The Fountain, 2006 - Directed by Darren Aronofsky
Three stories - one each from the past, present, and future - about men (Hugh Jackman) in pursuit of eternity with their love (Rachel Weisz). A conquistador in Mayan country searches for the tree of life to free his captive queen; a medical researcher, working with various trees, looks for a cure that will save his dying wife; a space traveler, traveling with an aged tree encapsulated within a bubble, moves toward a dying star that’s wrapped in a nebula; he seeks eternity with his love. The stories intersect and parallel; the quests fail and succeed.

So, hardly anyone I know has seen this movie, and those who have seen it don’t like it because it’s “too confusing.” I wish more people would see it, though. Above anything else it’s beautiful to watch, and it definitely made me cry.

Okay, I thought of one…

Napoleon Dynamite, 2004 - Directed by Jared Hess
This movie was good for about five seconds, right up until people started quoting it in every single sentence for the next two years.

Don’t hate me, but…

The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, 2009 - Directed by Troy Duffy
The McManus brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus) have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences, with a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins) and an FBI operative (Julie Benz) hot on their trail.
