Day 7 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
Electric Feel - MGMT
Hhhhhhhh okay, this one’s kind of lame, too. All of the songs I could think of are just songs that remind me of random little snippets of my life, no major events or important moments. This song reminds me of a particular summer evening, this past summer. I was with Alli, one of my best friends, and two of our really close friends Ian and Justin. Ian picked us all up from our houses and we headed downtown to Leeno’s, a hookah bar, where we were going to meet up with some other friends. While we were crossing the bridge to get downtown, Justin chose this song for us to listen to. I had to ask him what it was; I had never heard it. It just sounded so cool, I don’t know. I felt like it fit perfectly with what was going on. This song just reminds me of that night and that car ride. All the windows down, hot summer night, driving around with my friends, just graduated, nothing to worry about at all. I miss nights like those.
Hi, my name is: Grace Never in my life have I been: arrested The one person who can drive me nuts is: I’m only allowed to pick one? High school: wasn’t too bad When I’m nervous: I start talking really fast. The last song I listened to was: by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club If I were to get married right now my best man/maid of honor: would be my sister My hair is: not my natural color When I was 5: I wanted to be Pocahontas Last Christmas: was alright. I should be..: getting ready for bed When I look down I see: the rest of my body… The happiest recent event was: seeing my good friend today. There’s this guy I know who: looks like Shaun White. If I was an animal I’d be: a penguin. Why not. A better name for me would be: something that’s not my name. Tomorrow I am: seeing an old friend Tonight I am: hopefully getting some sleep
A Hollywood Video around here is going out of business. Today is the last day of their sale, and all movies are $0.99 or 20 for $10. I originally went all out and picked 20, most of which I hadn’t seen and half of which I hadn’t even heard of, but sounded interesting. I convinced myself to leave with only five: The Brothers Bloom, Conversations With Other Women, Hallam (Mister) Foe, Adoration, and London. True, I haven’t seen those last three, but at least I’ve heard of them. (Also, the total only came to $2.60, so it looks like I got there just in time.)
In other news, my favorites of 2008 are coming your way very soon.
Oh, my god. I was so pissed when the Hollywood Video in my town went out of business. It wasn’t even from doing poor business, it was something about the guy that owned the building not wanting to pay a fee or something. Most of the employees knew me by my first name haha that’s how often I went there. I think I walked away with at least 30 movies when they were selling everything. I seriously was there almost everyday of the last two weeks or so making sure I got the movies I wanted that I really hadn’t seen for sale anywhere else. Sigh…
This song reminds me of Italy. When I went with classmates on a trip through Italy sophomore year of high school, this song was insanely popular there/Europe in general at the time. I felt like I heard it everywhere I went. I heard it on the in-flight radio on practically every flight, over the speakers in the shops, on the radio in the hotels… I’m sorry for the lame story, but this was just the first song that came to mind.
